What is the Nota Informativa Mercantil?

In Spain, the Nota Informativa del Registro Mercantil is an official company profile extract issued by the Registro Mercantil, under the supervision of the national organization Registradores de España. It provides a comprehensive overview of a company’s legal standing, structure, share capital, directors, and compliance status.

Although it is not officially considered a certified document, it is timestamped with the exact date and time of download and is assigned a unique reference number. As such, it is widely used for AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures.

What does it look like?

It contains a structured index outlining all requested sections, such as:

Key elements

Under “Administradores y cargos sociales”, the document details some relevant information which are not available in the summary of the company page:

• Full name
• DNI (Documento Nacional de Identidad) of each legal representative
  • It's a unique ID of 8 digit
  • Format: 8 digit + a control character
• Their position (cargo): e.g., Administrador único
• Appointment date, notary reference, and duration
• City of residence
